What does the word grace mean to you? Is it something that you said before every meal when you were growing up? There is no question that each of us are broken. If you take a few moments to listen to conversations by your friends, family, co-workers, you will hear the heart break of the people in your life. Sometimes things happen that we can’t control, but most of the time things happen in our life because of decisions that we have made in the past.

I often hear “The past is the past, let it go.” Yeah that sounds great but I’m sure you know that letting go of major events that have happened your past is hard to wrestle through. The Bible speaks directly to this. Which is good for us if we are willing to put into practice the principals of God’s Word. In Galatians 6:7-9 it reads, Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” It’s easy for us to commit a sin and tell God, ok that’s the last time that will happen. A couple days later it happens again…ok God I really promise this is it. It’s not happening again. Maybe for awhile you stay clean but then some months later it happens again. It’s like a never ending cycle that you can’t get out of. The first problem with this cycle is that you’re putting all the weight on yourself. By saying “This is the last time” is a lot of pressure. That’s like telling yourself your sticking to your diet no matter what! Like that ever happens 🙂 The way to turn over the cycle of sin is to cast your worries on Jesus. He is the one that can help you get through difficult sin. Here in America we are told to be as independent as possible, but we know this is not possible. As people, we depend on others. The number one person you need to depend on is Jesus. Let him change you from the inside out.
